Well, last Saturday was a tough end to a tough week for Georgia fans. The game did not go Georgia’s way at all. They started out strong, but the gruesome injury to their receiver marked a change in momentum that Florida never gave up. Not to mention the disastrous punt before half time giving Florida an easy path to 7 more points. I know many Bulldog fans are feeling frustrated and disillusioned, but trust me when I say things are not as bad as they appear.
A couple of points to remember:
-Georgia does have a bad QB situation, but even with bad QB play and numerous injuries, Georgia mostly beat themselves in that game.
-Florida was well rested and caught Georgia at a good time. I do not think the game signals a change in power in the SEC East.
-Georgia only returned 2 starters from last year’s offense. It is practical to expect struggles, and they still could have won the game.
-The offensive scheme is good. Receivers were open all day, but the quarterbacks just could not hit them. That’s not good I know, but that can be corrected in the future.
-Florida only scored 6 points in the second half against a very depleted and over worked defense. Personally, I am already looking forward to next year.
On another note, we have a historic week happening in sports. The Masters is being played this November for the first and hopefully only time in history. With that in mind, we decided to add one more prediction to our contest. As usual, you can predict the score of the Georgia game, but you can also predict the final score for the Master’s Champion. Here is our unofficial prediction:
Georgia 21 Missouri 10
Master’s Champion Final Score: -21 (21 Under Par)
*please note we want the total score over 4 days and just the score. Not the actual winner
